A dental restoration or dental filling is a dental restorative material used artificially to restore the function, integrity, esthetic and morphology of missing tooth structure. The structural loss typically results from caries or external trauma.

Dental restorations may be fabricated out of a variety of materials, common direct restorative materials include dental amalgam, glass ionomer cement and composite resins.

 

 

  
 

Sadık Meral

Sadık Meral was born in Çankırı at the year of 1954. In 1979, he graduated from hacettepe unıversıty faculty of dentıstry. His service at Turkish Armed Forces started at 1980 with the rank of lieutenant dentist. He got his doctorade degree at orthodontics from Gülhane military medical academy, center for dental sciences at 1989. At 1998, he retired from Turkish Armed Forces with the rank of lieutenant colonel dentist. He is married and has three sons.
